Goodness, that is absurd.

I like Eastwood's response. From the article you linked to:

'Eastwood replied by saying that both movies were historically accurate, adding that Lee should "shut his face".'

Nice.

Christina

Hey, maybe you're right.......even though I didn't like Hillary in the first place, I really admire the way she keeps going, AND I thought that the recent TIRADE at "the Church" was despicable...and the way the congregation jumped up and down and applauded....can't tell me that type of rhethoric hasn't been going on all along! (EVEN while the innocent Barack was in attendance)!

We'll see how Hillary does tomorrow...if she does take it to the convention, I bet by then the Delegates will switch..

Chris,

I don't think Obama has as good a chance as you say--if you look at the demographics of his voters, he gets rich white liberals, blacks, and young people. The last two of those groups are the lowest-performing section of our electorate. If he is only getting rich white liberals, he can't win. They don't make up even close to 50% of the people (despite what they may think...).

If Obama's the nominee, I predict McCain wins in a landslide. Which he has no business doing. If it's Hillary, though, McCain will have a tough general election campaign ahead of him.

AMEN!! Will th REAL Obama PLEASE STAND UP??

I am an RN working in Psychiatry for over 20 yrs, and have never met a better CON ARTIST in my life!!
I started out loving him, then hating him, then loving him again....and now completely mistrusting him! (I doubt if his wife even knows "the real Barack".)

I thinl that Rev.Wright was even conned by him, thus becomming SO angry!!
Anyway, it looks like Obama's WHOLE GAMEPLAN (over the past 20 yrs), is working, and he has a good chance of becomming our MESSIAH.....
I hope to God that "the other shoe drops", and we find out exactly WHO HE IS!!!!!!

[...] As I’ve said before, I always like to challenge conservative authors to convince my Liberal Hat of how wrong it is. Evans could do it. Not only could he do it, he did it splendidly. I cannot imagine the patience Evans must have had to go through all that information and distill it into a 600-page book. That may seem like a lot, but Evans gives about 1200 pages’ worth of information in those pages. [...]

It is essential to liberty that the government stay out of people's bedrooms; it is also essential that the government not restrict whom one can associate with and in what way. Marriage is a private contract and should be treated as such with no government policy to dictate whom can contract with who. Liberty means that neither you nor the government can tell me what kind of family structure to have.

I am not cheerleading for Scandanavia or their family style but I notice the piece you reference from the Standard only talks about the decline in marriage as such: it says nothing of whether this has any real negative effect on life quality of the people involved. The article ties the trend to socialism; but there is nothing inherently socialistic about shifting away from the traditional family.

Marriage is biologically speaking not very akin to human beings and it seems to me that as knowledge proliferates and lifespans increase people are coming to realize that marriage creates complications that really aren't necessary. Paper contracts, judicial decrees, and religious rights are neither necessary nor sufficient for raising children in a loving environment.
